About the Role
We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic and committed Part-Time Early Years
Educator to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will support the
delivery of a safe, inclusive, child-centred and play-based ECCE programme
where children are encouraged to learn, develop and thrive. The role will
involve working collaboratively with colleagues, building positive relationships
with children and families, supporting children’s wellbeing and development,
and contributing to high-quality early learning and care practice within the
ECCE setting.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
A minimum of a Level 5 Major Award in Early Childhood Care and Education
/Early Learning and Care on the National Framework of Qualifications.
Knowledge and understanding of quality early years practice, child
development, play-based learning and inclusive practice.
Knowledge of Children First, child safeguarding responsibilities, health and
safety, and relevant early years regulations.
Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive
relationships with children, families and colleagues.
A caring, respectful, reliable and flexible approach to working with young
children.
Desirable Criteria
Experience working in an early years or school age childcare setting.
First Aid Response training.
Children First e-learning or other relevant child safeguarding training.
Experience supporting children with additional needs.
Knowledge of Aistear: the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework and
Síolta, the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education.
Key Responsibilities
Provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children.
Support children’s learning, development, wellbeing and inclusion
through play and meaningful interactions.
Assist with planning, observation and reflection in line with good early
years practice and the delivery of the ECCE programme.
Work as part of a team and contribute positively to the daily running of
the service.
Communicate respectfully and professionally with children,
parents/guardians, colleagues and management.
Follow service policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health
and safety, confidentiality and infection prevention practices.
